Almost everyone has heard of  John 3:16 -- "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

But what about the rest of that passage context.  Like . . . i mean . . . lets quote some other texts close to that one in location, and context.

How about the Last one First?

"And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."    John 3:19

"That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life."    John 3:15

"For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."    John 3:17

"He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."    John 3:18

And Lastly,  . . . How about the First one Last?

"And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:"    John 3:14    See  John 3:14-19  for reference

At the young age of 12, Jesus already knew His purpose.  Jesus already believed He was the Son of God.  This is true because He is.  So when His family sort of . . . misplaced Him . . . He was already doing the Fathers work.  They found Jesus in the temple, discussing The Almighty with the teachers of the time.    Luke 2:40-52

Jesus spoke the Fathers words, in the Fathers manner, with the Fathers Love, and the Fathers Judgment.    John 12:44-50    John 14:9     Matthew 11:27    John 10:30    John 8:19    John 8:38

And Jesus did things.  Lots of things.    Luke 9:43-44    John 21:25

He healed the sick, raised the dead, was crucified, and rose from the dead himself, to be our Saviour.

If … you … believe Him.

The Bible says as a man "thinketh" so is he.     Proverbs 23:7    Luke 6:45

You have heard the expressions:  The truth will come out.  For they shall be known by their fruits.  Can a good tree bring forth bad fruit?  Can a bad tree bring forth good fruit?  The fruit from your tree, depends on what you truly believe.  What you truly believe, will effect what you truly do / did / will do.  You will act on what you truly believe.  What you believe is what you are.  A dog barks.  An apple tree, grows apples.    Matthew 12:33    Luke 6:43-46

You know, dear reader,  there are liars and deceivers out there. They want to make merchandise of you.  They want to make slaves of you.  Try the spirits.  If they speak not according to the Bible, there is no Light in them.    Isaiah 44:24-28    Psalm 40:4    Revelation 21:22-27    Revelation 22:13-16    Titus 1:9-11    2 John 1:5-9
    2 Timothy 3:12-17    James 1:19-25    2 Peter 2:2-4    2 Peter 2:12-15    2 Peter 2:1-22    Revelation 18:11-14    1 John 4:1-3    Isaiah 8:19-20

You also know, dear reader,  people will ultimately act on what they believe to be true.  Even when they try to cover things up with outright deception, . . . . the truth will come out.

Furthermore, if one honestly acts on beliefs that are not true, great evils can take place.  When the truth does come out, what disappointment and guilt deception causes.  Sometimes the disappointment is so great the person abandons all he or she believes to be true, and turns their back on the truth.   Examples: If you believe a purchase (car, house) is a good deal you buy it.  If it turns out that the house / car had damage that was covered up, you kick yourself for not checking it out further.  One also gets mad and angry for someone lying to them.

When the first advent movement started it encompassed almost all of Christianity.  Jesus was coming soon.  Because of a misunderstanding of God's Word, the disappointment that caused, upset the church of that day greatly.  If one believes Jesus comes secretly to rapture believers, . . . or, . . . if one believes Jesus will come and set up a kingdom on this earth, finally giving the Israelites power over the kingdoms, . . .  and none of that happens, . . . what shaking of ones faith will that cause?  People can turn their back on God, over disappointments like that.  People can lose their soul over disappointments like that.    Revelation 10:8-11    Proverbs 15:21-24    See  Hebrews 10:35-37

So let me make a personal appeal.  Continue to seek for the truth, even if you think you know it.  Keep an open mind.  Be willing to do the things God will teach you. God promises He will be with you and help you.
