God is in Control     Isaiah 45:5-7    Isaiah 44:6-8    Isaiah 45:1-25

"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.  If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it."      Isaiah 1:18-20

"Woe unto him that saith unto his father, What begettest thou? or to the woman, What hast thou brought forth? Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me. I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded."       Isaiah 45:10-12

So What?
And Nothing Ever Goes Right Either.
              So . . .  Read on below
One more Bible text then Ken writes . . .

"And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, the LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations."    Exodus 3:13-15

Ken Floyd wrote>

Either God Is,  or God is not.  The statement "God Is," is either  true or not true.  If God is talking and says "I AM THAT I AM:"  He is either telling the truth or someone is lying in His name.  If it is true there is no god, then all the talk about Him throughout the ages and across cultures is just some sort of silly human fantasy.   Moreover . . .
"Holy is His name."      Luke 1:48-50

God is either everything or nothing at all.  God is in control, or nothing is in control.
Lord knows i (ken) am not in control.  Bear with me here.  Follow the logic please.

Let's start with  three  givens.
Given 1  --  God is defined as the One ultimate and universal sentient, thinking being.   "I AM"
Given 2  --  God is defined as the only being with life in Himself.
Given 3  --  Everything existing, exists by God's will.
Forgive me (ken), but , some questions must be asked.  And, those questions need givens too.
Given 4  --  God is Love
Given 5  --  God is Merciful
Given 6  --  God is Forgiving

OK . . . Question 1  --  What purpose does this world's strife, death, confusion, turmoil, and evil serve?
Question 2  --   If   God is in "control,"  how can anyone be blamed for being, thinking or doing anything?
Question 3  --   If   God is in "control,"  then why do God  fearing men suffer so much?

The devil wants you to believe these lies.
                  2 Thessalonians 2:8-12

Lucifer says he can do better than that.  Isaiah 14:12-15
Satan says God is just making it up as He goes along.  Zephaniah 1:11-14

In order to answer those three troubling questions a seventh given is needed.     Given 7  --  God has Rules
We can argue about the validity of the givens, but I think most people who will even entertain the idea of "God" will agree those would be some characteristics of an Almighty Benevolent Creator.  Many people who say there is no God would agree being good has its virtues.     Matthew 19:17    Psalm 14:1-7    Exodus 20:1-20

Now . . . all poor, little, ignorant, working stiff, Ken, has to go on is his senses.  My whole world and my perception of it is controlled by my physical senses and intellectual senses.  My personal history is composed of those things I have done, or experienced.  Thoughts don't count as history directly, since history is defined as something which has happened.  With this exception, if you thought about it, you did think it.   My expanded history is composed of those things I believe to have happened, either because someone told me it did, or I see and correlate the results of the occurance, or both.  History is what has happened or what one believes to have happened.

The present is composed of tiny moments passing from future to history.  The past influences the present.  The present influences the future.  The future is unknown to us until it becomes fact in time.  Most people agree time is a fact in our world.  Most people agree the future appears to be an uncertain series of events in our world.

Not to God.  The constraints of past, present and uncertain future do not apply to Him.
Ecclesiastes 3:10-12    Isaiah 46:9-11    Revelation 21:5-7    Revelation 22:12-14

Given 1 and the phrase "I AM"  include omnipotence and  omnipresence.   Faith is belief.    Hebrews 11:1-3
Hebrews 11:6    Givens 4 - 7 imply a guidebook, or some form of instruction and information on how to please Him.  That guidebook to pleasing God is the Bible.  If you can not muster up enough faith to believe the Protestant Holy Bible could be the revealed will of God, how to please him in two easy volumes, then click the back button on your browser.  Don't think about anything else you might read in this website.

Since you are open minded, read on.        So . . .       Allow me to ask a counter question to
                                                                                                                         the three accusatory questions above:
Counter - Question 1    What would you do if you were God?
And an immediate answer.       Exactly what God did.

Imagine yourself as god for a moment.  Try to put yourself in His shoes.  You might not completely understand.  But the One True and Righteous God can help you try.   See James 1:5   Remember the givens above.  You, as god, are a good, just, and merciful creator.  And you are the only one. When you, as god, decide to do something good,  you are not going to leave any of it to chance.  Are you?  You would do it positively, and precisely.  Wouldn't you?  If you were going to do anything, would you leave it to chance?  I don't think so.  If you were God and could do anything, what would you do?

Think about this for a second.  There is you.
JUST YOU.   No one else.  No other god.
Joel 2:27    Just you, and your family,
        united as One.   NOTHING ELSE.

Even with the Spirit and the Son in Heaven with you, it could get a little boring.

Safe, Secure, (after all you are god)  no one around to bother you, except maybe Jesus once in a while asking, "What we gonna do Father?"  Well, the Spirit wants to re-decorate Heaven.  The Son needs instruction.  You, your spirit, and your son know what you want.  You want more sons and daughters.  You want a wife for your son.  You want to spread your spirit of love to grand children and greater grand children. You want a safe and secure loving home for all your children in your universe.

There is a nagging thought in your mind.  You, your spirit, and your son discuss "the problem" at length. You as god know, everything you do, or could do, has a consequence.  Of all the  STUFF   you could do, not everything should be done.  There are things you, as god, should not make.  Things you won't do.  Things you will not consider.  There is no point in doing those things.  They will not be done.    1 Corinthians 10:22-23    As god you know there are an infinite number of things you could do. You can do anything you want.  Daniel 4:35  You could make something, then tear it up. Ecclesiastes 3:1-17  Then you could make a better copy and start over.  No point in that.  1 Corinthians 6:9-12  Then you and your spirit and your son also know there is really only one act which  makes you happy.  Only one joy which really gives you pleasure.    Ephesians 1:3-11    Only one Way.    John 14:6    Only one Truth.  You and your family are One Life.  It pleases you to give gifts.    Matthew 7:11-12    Luke 11:13    It pleases you to share life with your family.  You know if you are ever going to make this life for your family last, you will have to do it the 'right' way.   You will do the right thing,   Isaiah 66:22-23     because:
Given 7   God has Rules     Given 4   God is Love     Given 5   God is Merciful      Given 6   God is Forgiving
You will not change your nature.    James 1:17    Malachi 3:6    You will not fail.    Isaiah 42:4-9    Deuteronomy 31:6    Fail  is one of the "things" you could do if you wanted.  But you know you won't let that happen.  You believe you can make a home for your family.    Hebrews 11:6    You have the power to make it happen.  You know what you are doing.  You have a plan.    Matthew 13:35   Matthew 25:34   John 17:24   Ephesians 1:4   Hebrews 4:3   Hebrews 9:26

"THE PROBLEM"  --  What if one of your children or grand children changes their nature.
If they, like your son, have your nature, and change not, all is well.
If somewhere, sometime, one of them , chose not to follow your instructions, all hell could break loose.
You know you won't let that happen.  They must be taught.  As your son is taught.  They must know as your son knows.  So You, your spirit, and your son make a plan.  All is ready.  Your son offers to do the work so you can stay in the throne room and run the universe.  You already have a vision of your own future.  The future is Holy and True and Righteous and Good.

Your spirit redecorates the throne room.  You make Heaven and your son makes it so.  You turn on the lights so your creations can see distinction in your things.  You make the heavens and your son makes it so.  You make Angels in Heaven, and your son makes it so.  You make worlds without number and your son makes it so.

And joy in Your families heart.  And peace throughout Heaven.  Regularly you would bring more life into your  Universe.   Wouldn't you?
Dear Reader,  If you were God you would want to make Creation that way,
Wouldn't you?

With your first creation you make time & space.  You make light and dark.  And you make worlds and beings.  You make Angels and flowers.  You make gold and glass.  You make suns and moons and nebulae and black holes and . . . and . . . and . . . You made the "Tree Of Life."  You made the "River of Life."  There is joy in Heaven.    Job 38:4-12

Now let us apply a little logic and reason to the above scenario of you, as god, in a heaven full of peace and love.
The word CHOICE has the following standard definitions:
The act of choosing   The power of choosing     The act or opportunity of choosing or the thing chosen
Choice suggests the opportunity or privilege of choosing freely 'freedom of choice'.

If you as god ever create any sentient being to be something, and give it the power of choice, then by definition the creature must be able to choose not to be, what you want it to be.  If the creature chooses the wrong way, you would have to correct this 'problem'.  You know you cannot allow any of the bizzilion wrong ways to have true life.  You know there is a difference between right and wrong, what works and what does not, where life comes from and where death comes from.  You know the difference between something and nothing.  Proverb 8:22-27   Proverb 8:1-36

Could you and your family allow pain, suffering and death in some of your creation, in order to teach the rest of creation the difference between good and bad, life and death, love and hate?  Will you tolerate blisters and pain, bruises and broken hearts to make your family safe from destruction and death?  If you love your family you would, wouldn't you?    John 15:12-14

Now . . . Let's return to this scenario of You as god.  Everything is going 'peachy' in Heaven, and the entire Universe.  You are making new creations by the score.  Every so often there is a time for Creation to rest and think about you and all you do for your Universe and family.  There are regular meetings of all the leaders of your creatures.   Job 38:4-12  Job 1:6   Job 2:1  The rest of the time the universe is humming along nicely, doing what it is supposed to do.

Then . . . Lucifer, one of your important and close servant Angels develops a problem.   In fact,  in truth,  in actuality,   in real time,   in sight of All Heaven and All Creation,  Lucifer has got a problem.    Ezekiel 28:14-15
Imagine . . . You, your spirit, and your son, are conducting one of the regular meetings of the creation leaders.  Lucifer stands up and says, "Holy God, humbly let me make this request to you.  I have served you faithfully these many eons of time.  As covering cherub    Ezekiel 28:12-19     I know your ways.  You, your spirit, and your son, have been saying for a long time you were going to have more direct children and grand children.  Children and grand children who are just like your son.
I, Lucifer, would humbly request you make me just like him.  You said you were going to make one of your creations just like him.  I request you make me a god, and lord, just like him."

Well . . . You, your spirit, and your son, know that is not part of the plan.  All Heaven is in shock.  The creation leaders are speechless.  You reply to him "Lucifer buddy, that is not part of the plan.  If you persist, it will kill you.

Sorry buddy, but being god is not in you.  Be content, or lust will destroy you."    Given 7  God has rules
    James 1:13-15

Lucifer replies "You say you are God, and can do anything.  I don't see why you cannot make me a god too.  You just know any of us can be god.  You were just the first one to create.  You just know anyone of your creations could be god, if they willed it.  Just like you do.  Let me sit on Heavens throne and I will show everyone.  You don't understand."
You, your spirit, and your son, reason with Lucifer.  But to no avail.  "THE PROBLEM" has reared its ugly head.  Lucifer begins spreading doubts and rumors about your true intentions and goals.  What do you as god do now.  Lucifer has become Satan, the devil.  All of creation could be in rebellion and revolt.  Death and destruction could grow until creation destroys itself.  Then it would be just you and your immediate family again.  Nothing else.  No point in allowing that to happen.  It is not in the plan.  If you just destroy and blot  Lucifer out immediately and completely, the rest of creation would not understand.  Creation would serve you motivated by fear, not motivated by your love.  All of creation must be shown you are the only one true God.  You are the only one who can truly say  "I AM."  All  creation must know the difference between true and not true.   1 Corinthians 1:29     1 Corinthians 1:25-30    Leviticus 10:10    Ezekiel 44:23-24

So . . . What do you do now?  You do exactly what you were already planning to do.  Nothing has changed from your perspective.  You have a plan.  This little 'problem' is already taken care of.  It is in the plan.  You will tolerate some pain to make your Universe perfect for your family.    2 Peter 3:13

"Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice? . . .  O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.  Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.  . . .      I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.     The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride,        and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.   Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom:  I am understanding; I have strength.  . . .  The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.  I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.  When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.
Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:  While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.  When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:  . . . Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;  Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men..  Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.  Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.

Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.  For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.  But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death."
Proverbs 8:1, 5-6, 12-14, 22-27, 30-36            Proverbs 8:1-36

For a few more brief moments,
Imagine you are god.

Even though you are not God.        What would You do?

The first thing you would create is concepts and definition.  How else could there be anything unless it was defined.

God is . . . Or is not.      God creates . . . Or does not.      God sustains or He does not.     God forgives . . . Or not.
God redeems . . .   Or He does not.        You dear reader, either are . . . Or You are not.   You are . . .Correct?

You define love and hate,  Good and evil,  Light and dark,  Is and is not.  Living or not living.  Do, or do not do.        Think of some comparisons yourself.   You make the rules.   Given 7  God has rules.  Cause and effect,  Attraction and repulsion,  Order and chaos.  Purpose and chance.  Freedom and slavery.  Peace and discord.  Joy and depression.  Faithfullness and rebellion.  Life and death.  Deuteronomy 11:26-28   Joshua 24:15   And you follow your own rules.  James 1:16-18   One thing you  will never do is change.  You will always be and stay who you are.   If you choose the right way,  you are good, and god.  And, if you ever do change, and do the wrong way.   You will not be god, you will be not.  Either, I am, or I am not, is a logical given.  Correct?  True?   Ezekiel 18:4     Ezekiel 18:20

But you are God and Will not change.   Malachi 3:6   James 1:16-18     It is your Glory and your Character to be who you are.   Isaiah 42:8    Isaiah 48:10-12     You will not turn your back on creation and abandon it like some whim of a spoiled child.  Isaiah 49:14-16     You have a plan   Revelation 13:8-9   Revelation 13:1-9   Revelation 5:12-14  Revelation 5:7-14  Revelation 5:1-14    In your defining of things you define Choice.  Remember the logical that choice includes the ability to choose wrongly.  And Lucifer, one of your closest and most trusted servants just said, "I am no different than you are.  I will be God too.   Ezekiel 28:11-19    Isaiah 14:12-24

So.  . . .   What would You do?    A)  Let Lucifer have Creations Throne
Blot Lucifer out of existence now.
Let the results of Lucifer's lie be known, for a time, then, do away with him
                                                                and everything he represents.
For Ever   Nahum 1:9   Nahum 1:1-15
                                                     D)  Just not create
I think most rational people would choose C).           Do you want the little devil on god's throne?
                                                           (  I   KEN  Think Not ! )

Splat. Wipe up that mess. Blot him out now and every other sentient thinking loving creature in your universe that, you as god, ever made or would make, would wonder if Lucifer was right, and his lies were true.    In fact, you could teach all creation through this, if you were willing to allow it to happen at all.   Just not create?   Not an option.   You are the creator.    You cannot,  not create.

Now Imagine This . . . You are still god for a few moments.  There is another meeting of the creation leaders.  These leaders of each group of living creatures are gathered before you and

Lucifer says,
"God, I have been listening to you
          explain your answers to me.
                I do not believe you.
                    I will be god too."
                          Isaiah 14:12-14

All creation is now Speechless Again!
What can you do?  You reply to Lucifer. "You are now corrupt Lucifer.  Your name is now Satan, accuser of the brethren, and the devil, deceiver of souls.  Revelation 12:9-11    You have not believed what you know.  You have never been what you have appeared to be.    John 8:43-45    you little devil are one big lie.   John 8:43-45   you will die.    Ezekiel 18:4   you will be not.  Ezekiel 28:19     All memory and trace of you will be erased, blotted out, gone, poof.    Revelation 21:3-5

All creation Stands Back!  . . . After a few minutes some one yells, "Watch out, God's gonna smite him."
Some one else yells, "Death no, God can't kill. Hell no, He can't do it."

You, as God, say, "Satan, you will be no more, on a day I have planned,  a day I have appointed.  Into the darkness you will go.  You are cast out of heaven NOW."     Revelation 12:9-12

And you, as god, throw Satan out of heaven.  Open rebellion, mutiny, sin, this you cannot allow.  All creation will watch and see what you will do.  All creation will see and benefit from what you have planned.    Revelation 5:13

But you, dear reader, are not God.   Isaiah 55:6-9   And being human like you has some special, different circumstances from the rest of  creation.   You are special!    1 John 3:1-3

But you are not God.  You don't have to make the choices He makes.  Romans 12:3    Romans 12:1-3    You are only responsible for the choices He gives you to make.  We don't know the whole plan.   Matthew 11:27     Psalm 92:5-6          Job 28:12-14     ". . . No man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end."
                                Ecclesiastes 3:10-11      Ecclesiastes 3:1-22

At some point God decided to create this Earth we live on.  Just like, at some point, He decided to create you.  If you are a live human being reading this, create you He did.  If in wisdom God uses males and females, in species to make life now,  He is God and can create as He chooses.  Huh?   Exodus 33:18-19    Romans 9:8-23    Ephesians 5:30-32
At some point Lucifer gained access to Earth.   Adam and Eve fell, giving this world to Him.  1 Corinthians 15:21-26    This was not a "fortunate fall"  as some philosophies teach.  Adams action was blind disobedience not blind obedience.  Adam disobeyed.  Disobedience,  rebellion,  sin  has results / consequences which lead to death.  Union and agreement with God is life.   Separation, rebellion, and disagreement with God is the way of death.
# 7 God has rules.     Romans 5:18-19   1 John 3:4   1 John 3:1-8   Romans 6:23   1 Peter 1:15-19   Ezekiel 33:11-12   Ezekiel 33:18-19

Jesus is the way of life.  God's purpose in this world is to bring "many sons to Glory"     Hebrews 2:9-11    # 7 God has rules.          Hebrews 5:8-9
God has said it is His will to bring many sons to glory.  He has said belief in Him and obedience to His rules results in life.

He has said disbelief and disobedience to the rules is death.   Proverbs 8:36     Proverbs 15:32   Proverbs 19:8     Proverbs 19:16    Mark 8:36

With few exceptions, life in this world yields death in this world.  You have heard the expression. "Born to die."  God says He is Life, therefore His will is Life.  If it is not life and life sustaining, then it is a way of death, not life.   It is not His will than any should  perish.    2 Peter 3:9    Let us review the logical givens.  If you haven't read the chapter "In the Beginning" from the book, it is suggested you review that chapter.

Given 1 -- God is defined as the One ultimate and universal sentient, thinking being. "I AM"  By definition the only one true God is the creator, and supreme being, and highest of any higher powers.  God the Father is either everything or nothing at all.  He says  "I AM."   It is a given. You can believe it or not.  It is your choice to believe it or not.    "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."  Hebrews 11:6    Hebrews 11:1-40

Given 2 -- God is defined as the only being with life in Himself.  As creator He can impart life, because He is the source of life.    John 10:17-18    John 10:14-18

Given 3 -- Everything existing, exists by God's will.  Everything existing:  things and thoughts, living and non-living,  exists by God's will.  God either desires it to be and makes it so, or God allows it to be as a result and consequence of an action.  God's will includes what He desires that is, and what He does not desire but allows.
This is not a difficult distinction.  If your son Johnny wants to play football and you don't think it would be good for him, you can prevent Johnny from signing up, or you can let him play and find out himself.  You don't desire for him to play football, but you will allow it. Your desire for Johnny to learn Football is not for him, trumps your desire that he not get hurt too badly learning it.  You make sure he wears his pads and helmet every time though.

No reason can be given for sin.  It should not exist.  This is part, of the "mystery of iniquity."  2 Thessalonians 2:7-9                     God will destroy sin.   It will not exist in the future.   God allows sin because God is Love.                                                         This is part, of  the "mystery of Godliness."       1 Timothy 3:16

Given 4 -- God is Love  1 John 4:8    1 John 4:16    2 Corinthians 5:17-21    1 John 3:1-3    1 John 4:1-21   God's character, Doxo, Glory, is one.  John 10:27-31  John 10:7-31  1 John 5:1-3  1 John 5:16-18    He is the sharing benevolent creator.  He shares his life with His creatures and has a concious regard for His creations well being.    Hebrews 4:14-16

Given 5 -- God is Merciful  Romans 5:20-22    Exodus 34:6-7      If God's will is to share His life eternal with many sons of glory, and, if God's will is to teach them belief and obedience to His word, then He must be tolerant of mistakes with reason.

If every mistake had unpardonable capital consequences He would never have created anything.  If everything is dead,                                       then there is nothing.

Given 6 -- God is Forgiving    Romans 5:20-22    Exodus 34:6-7      If God allows a mistake with reason to happen then He must be able to forgive those mistakes.  If He did not forgive, everything is dead, then there is nothing.                        If  He replayed past wrongs, what progress is there in that.

Given 7 -- God has Rules  Above all, God has rules.    Exodus 20:1-20    Matthew 5:18    Isaiah 42:21    It is his character and his glory.    Exodus 34:5-7    Colossians 2:1-3    2 Corinthians 5:19    James 1:17    Chaos cannot create.  Experience teaches, things not maintained deteriorate.  Our natural world is loaded with rules.  Disobedience to many of these rules will kill you dead.  If you jump off the cliff, likely you will die.  By understanding the rules one can find exceptions to the rule.   If you have a parachute,  maybe you will live.  An exception to the rule is just when unfamiliar rules have more power than the rules you know.

Now . . .  Dear Reader . . . Let us review two other concepts we have already considered:

Chance:  The Webster's Dictionary defines chance as;  1 a : something that happens unpredictably without discernible human intention or observable cause ;4 a : the possibility of a particular outcome in an uncertain situation.  We humans can see and base judgements on cause, effect, and coorellation. When something does not occur the way we think it should, or it is uncertain what will become fact, we call that chance.    Ecclesiastes 9:11    The human mind can think of many scenarios on any given subject.  Logically there are an infinite number of occurances which could occur.  There is a chance any number of things could happen.  Logically also, when some occurance happens in real time it becomes fact.  There can only be one fact of occurance on any given subject.  There are many gods which have not created anything.  There is only One God who created the heavens and the earth.   "Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens."      Jeremiah 10:11

Choice:  When humans make a choice they are predicting the outcome of an uncertain event.  They are deciding that this particular set of circumstances will probably have this outcome which requires them to act accordingly.  Because the outcome    is uncertain, the amount of faith and belief in that choice determines their actions.  You choose to stand up, then stand up.  With that comes the understanding you could be wrong, and not be able to stand up.  With experience we learn that in this circumstance we can choose to stand and  in another circumstance our legs won't work, we can't stand, no matter how bad we "want" to.   James 4:12-15    Proverbs 23:7    Matthew 12:34    James 2:17-20    James 2:1-26    James 4:1-17

So . . . Let's answer the questions asked in the beginning of this essay.

Question 1 -- What purpose does the existence of this world with its strife, death, confusion, turmoil, and evil serve?

Question 2 -- If God is in "control," how can anyone
be blamed for being or thinking or doing anything?
Question 3 -- If God is in "control," then                        why do God fearing men suffer so much?

Given 7 -- God has Rules
It is all in the rules.  For there to be ordered life there must be rules for lifes existence.  Without order there is nothing of  distinction.  Without distinction, there is nothing, but                     extinctions.

To answer question 1 -- What purpose does this world serve?   There are two reasons.   All other reasons are  offshoots from these two reasons.  One, that no flesh glory in His presence.   1 Corinthians 1:27-29    This is established, either God is or God is not.  Revelation 22:13-15   He will not give his glory to another. Isaiah 42:8-9    Isaiah 48:10-12  Two, that we might learn the difference between clean and unclean.  Leviticus 10:10    Revelation 11:3-4    Romans 15:4

To answer question 2
-- If God is in "control," how can anyone be blamed?  Isaiah 28:14-18   Blame is a word that has no meaning in the Kingdom of God.  Blame, fault, even responsibility for the occurance of an event, rests with God.  It is our choice to be truthful with ourselves.  Are we doing what God wants us to?   Romans 9:18-20   What is,  is truth.   John 14:6   The doing of truth is freedom.   John 8:31-33   The best any creature can attain to is doing what they're supposed to do.    Ecclesiastes 12:13-14    Isaiah 45:10    Isaiah 45:5-12    If that creature does not perform correctly, and cannot be made to perform correctly,  God says it will be not.  Sin and sinners will never be again!    Nahum 1:7-9    Ezekiel 28:19    Ezekiel 28:11-19     See  Revelation 21:1-8

To answer question 3
-- If God is in "control," then why do God fearing men suffer so much?  1 Peter 4:12-19    God made Jesus perfect through sufferings.    Hebrews 2:9-11     Again, this world is a passing abberation. This world is a spot of  time in the space of eternity.  The suffering of this world is minor compared to the wonders and glories to be seen by God's people.  Romans 8:16-18    1 Peter 4:12-13    Satan is fighting for every little scrap he thinks he can get.  The little devil knows he has a short time.  Revelation 12:12   1 Peter 5:6-11    Of course the little devil goes for defacing the image of God, perverting what is good.  All who will  live godly will suffer persecution.   2 Timothy 3:10-13
"For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us."    Romans 8:18    2 Corinthians 4:17     Gifts will be given to God's people that are more glorious than we can imagine.    Isaiah 48:10-12    1 Corinthians 2:9-10    Isaiah 64:4

Now . . . Imagine you are god again . . . for one last moment. . . .

You are everything, and all knowledge, and all power.  Your creatures are not everything.  They have to learn what you teach, tell, and reveal to them.  Deuteronomy 29:29    The only way your children can learn is if they believe what you tell and show them.  Hebrews 11:6  Hebrews 11:1  Hebrews 11:1-6    2 Timothy 3:16  2 Peter 1:19-21   Romans 15:4    John 16:12-14    2 Timothy 3:12-17    2 Timothy 3:1-17    Romans 15:1-6

You tell your creatures, believe me.  I am God.  I am in control.   John 14:27    John 14:1-3
Your creatures should believe and love you.    You are telling them the truth.

"Jesus saith unto him,  I am the way, the truth, and the life:  no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
John 14:6   John 14:1-31
